Levant Cooking: Food of the Middle East Class 11/05 (Victoria)


Experience Levant Cooking with Chef Jonathan Chovancek.  Take a culinary tour of Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan, without leaving town!  Learn about the spicing, flavours and cooking

methods of this unique style of Middle Eastern Food.  In the class, we will make and eat the following:  


  • Lebanese meatballs in spicy tomato sauce with fresh pickles and za'atar - rose petal flatbread
  • Turkish seven spice lamb chops with wild onion seed labneh, saffron- whey sauce
  • Pressure cooker autumn squash consomme with fresh turmeric chicken dumplings
  • Sweet 'Uwwamat fritters with white chocolate, pistachio and rosewater sauce

Demonstration and Hands-on
